How We Reduce Mosquito Activity on Your Property

Mosquito control works best when it focuses on both active mosquitoes and the conditions that allow them to thrive. Simply spraying adult mosquitoes often provides temporary relief, but lasting improvement usually requires a broader strategy. Our process at WeedCo is built around finding where they're breeding and resting, then applying the right products to break that cycle.

Here's how we approach mosquito population management:

• Property inspection first – Before any product goes down, we walk your property and identify active breeding zones, standing water sources, and shaded resting areas where mosquitoes congregate during the day. Knowing where they're operating is what makes the treatment effective.
• Larvicide treatment for standing water – Where water can't be fully eliminated, such as in irrigation basins, decorative features, or low-lying areas, we apply EPA-approved larvicides that stop mosquitoes before they hatch rather than waiting to deal with the adults.
• Barrier treatment for resting zones – Mosquitoes spend the heat of the day resting in shaded vegetation, along fence lines, and in dense shrubs. We treat those areas with targeted products that reduce the adult population and keep working between visits.
• Breeding source identification – Mosquitoes breed in remarkably small amounts of water, including in dishes under potted plants, inside watering cans, and in any container that catches rain. We identify these spots and walk you through eliminating or treating them so you're not constantly fighting a source you didn't know was there.
• Scheduled follow-up treatments – Barrier treatments break down over time from heat and rain. During peak monsoon season, we recommend returning every three to four weeks to maintain coverage. Staying ahead of the breeding cycle is what keeps activity down.
